«Cancer Boundary Network» for F. Maspero and K.Sluvban, «Spotted Leopard Skin» for JC. Rufin, «Past Centralizing Utopia» for P. Garde : definitions of the territories of the former Yugoslavia bring many of us to this idea of fragmented, splitted, plural space. Traveling in the Balkans, (mainly here Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kosovo) is mainly seeking to define these boundaries, whether physical, cultural or coming from our own representations. It is also realizing the complexity of this research and to confront the many paradoxes that structure these spaces and gives them a common character. It is finally learning to let go, to let oneself be carried away, to be disconcerted by these antagonisms that bring together these «enemy brothers». Slagalica (the puzzle in Bosnian and Serbian) is therefore an attempt to understand a space that is singular due to its diversity, the result of an unfinished research : an unresolved puzzle.

“Réseau de frontières cancéreux” pour F. Maspero et K.Sluvban, “Peau de léopard tachetée” pour JC. Rufin, “Utopie centralisatrice passée” pour P. Garde… les définitions relatives aux territoires de l’Ex Yougoslavie nous renvoient pour nombre d’entre elles à cette idée d’espace fragmenté, éclaté, divisé, pluriel. Voyager dans les balkans, (essentiellement ici la Serbie, La Bosnie-Herzegovine et le Kosovo) c’est donc d’abord chercher à définir ces frontières, qu’elles soient physiques, culturelles ou issues de nos propres représentations. C’est ensuite se rendre compte de la complexité de cette entreprise et se confronter aux nombreux paradoxes qui structurent ces espaces et leur donne un caractère commun. C’est finalement apprendre à lâcher prise, se laisser porter, déconcerter par ces antagonismes qui rassemblent ces “frères ennemis”. Slagalica (le puzzle en serbo croate) est donc une tentative de compréhension d’un espace singulier de par sa diversité, le résultat d’une recherche inaboutie : un puzzle irrésolu fait de pièces elles mêmes morcelées.
